NEWMAN CEMETERY, Angelina County, Texas was photographed January 24, 2010, and updated with several new burials on January 7, 2013. This cemetery is located on a rural dirt road in an area of dirt pits and little else on a county road named for the original settlers of this area, Martin and Flora Ann Newman, who farmed 160 acres around this cemetery location.

DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of Loop 287 and SR103 west of Lufkin, go west on 103 six miles to the sign for "Newman Cemetery" at CR23 (Newman Road). Turn right on this dirt road and go half a mile; the cemetery is on the left across from the road to a dirt pit. Photos of individual headstones will be provided at no charge to anyone who asks;

Information was taken directly from each headstone; if I added information from additional research, I placed parentheses around that information. No outside source is ever used for cemetery transcriptions here except when we do research to determine missing data, such as birth or death dates.
