CLAY CEMETERY, San Augustine County, Texas, was photographed and transcribed on May 11, 2011.  Established in 1913, Clay is a small African-American cemetery of about 3 dozen burials, and is still in use by the community. 
DIRECTIONS:  From US96 in San Augustine, turn west on FM711 (at the carwash) and go 6 miles to CR205, on the left just past FM3017.  Turn left on 205 and go 2 miles to the intersection with CR207. Turn right and continue on the red-dirt road for about half a mile; the cemetery is on the left at the top of the hill.
