BARGE CEMETERY, Angelina County, Texas was photographed on April 14, 2013. As is our custom, we took pictures of each individual headstone, and will provide digital copies by email
or prints by regular mail of individual headstones upon request.
The first burial in this cemetery occurred in July, 1886 when Laura M. Barge died at age 7 years, 7 months and was buried under a cedar tree in the yard - as she had requested a few months
earlier. Later, Aaron Barge donated half an acre to the cemetery, and in 1997 Charles Oliver donated another half-acre.
DIRECTIONS: From the caution light in Zavalla, go south on US69, 1.5 miles to FM 1270 and turn right. Go 2-1/3 miles to Barge Cemetery Road and turn right. The cemetery is at the end of this
road.
Burials are listed here alphabetically by last name only. This method preserves the adjacencies of family members so that, for instance, spouses buried next to each other appear together
here.
Numbers in parentheses following each name is an internal reference for locating individual pictures in our files.
