East Tx Cemeteries: About Us
Bobby Britnell, CPO, US Navy, Retired, is a veteran of 22 years active duty, serving in both the Pacific and Atlantic Fleets during the Vietnam War and the Cold War. Following his Naval service, Bob managed paint stores in Ohio & Arizona, and small department stores in Louisiana. Bob and Sandra (Sandy) Britnell, Bob's youngest sister, share an assisted living apartment in Lufkin, Texas due to advancing age. We have slowed down in our field work but still offer the same services as before. Sandy is a retired Executive Assistant, and worked in the telecommunications industry in Louisiana for 45+ years. Another sister is deceased, and an older brother (also a retired Navy CPO) lives in another state.
We have been heavily involved since 1991 in genealogical research on our BRITNELL and STRINGER family lines, and since 2003 in cemetery research in the East Texas Counties known as "Deep East Texas", locating our ancestors' burials.
We thank you very much for visiting this website. We provide some research assistance for individuals searching for the burial location of family or friends, and will do some genealogy research. We will never request payment for any service we provide and will not accept payment if offered. We have approximately 36,000 pictures of headstones in East Texas Counties, and offer them free of payment to any one who requests them. We have no administrative connection with any cemetery listed here, and cannot help with plot purchase or burial assistance.
Clarence E. Britnell (1916--1972) married Abbie E. Stringer (1917--1989) June 11, 1938 in San Augustine County, Texas. They had four children -- 2 sons and 2 daughters. Our parents are buried in Big Woods Cemetery near Edgerly, Louisiana, not far from their daughter Lenda and daughter-in-law Sally (Cox) Britnell.
